ABOUT ME - Erin Marshall

For me it’s always been about Aesthetics: the appreciation and creation of Beauty, Art, and Taste. This passion has been a constant throughout my education and career.

Born and raised in Southern California. I attended Oxford University, United Kingdom to enhance my minor in Art History. Graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas with a Bachelor degree in Broadcast/Film. After my graduation, I joined FNN (Financial News Network) as Production Coordinator and Makeup Artist.

In Denver, I worked for Adolph Coors Company as Producer/Director. It was my privilege to work closely with the Coor’s brothers creating beer commercials and media productions. Returning to California, I worked for renowned Makeup Artist, Joan Mazzei in Newport Beach. All the while raising two thriving children.

Currently I am the Makeup Artist and licensed Esthetician at Felix Design Studio & Day Retreat in Palos Verdes, California. Recognizing a need, and listening to my clients, I created an exceptional skin care and makeup line for all ages, PHIZ (a British term for “face”). PHIZ skin care and makeup is classy, sleek, stylish, flattering and always fashionable. PHIZ represents the latest in advanced skin care technology proven to combat the aging process (http://www.phizskincare.com/).

With the latest trends and colors, I share makeup tips with teenage girls who thrive on the metamorphosis they witness. I enjoy beautifying all women with sheer grace and elegance. As an insightful Esthetician, I believe makeup to be very personal. I approach the canvas of every face creatively and respectfully. Whether you seek a natural everyday look or a dramatic look for the red carpet, I can create a beautiful work of art for any occasion.

Welcome to a Lovelier Future

The world is revolving around us so fast and our lives are moving at hyper speed. We have instant messages, text messages, Facebook, twits, tweets and blogs. As of last week, I didn’t know what a “blog” was until I googled other blogs. However I do have a website www.phizskincare.com.

I still don’t know how to twit and tweet. It’s all a little daunting. I still haven’t had the courage to set up a Facebook page. I find it menacing to go to the mailbox at times. There are definite moments when I ‘m afraid to open my own email. Writing my first blog segment is absolutely terrifying! I’m a private person and very much enjoy my anonymity.

To expose my thoughts and expertise in this high tech universe is frightening! I feel like I’m standing naked in Central Park during a blizzard. Brrr! Although, my hair and makeup look really good!

We all live in a time of uncertainly and that in it self is unnerving. But to live life afraid all the time is simply not an option.

Then it occurred to me that I may well be in good company. That many of you out there have similar fears, and stresses. And that looking good – and more important feeling good – is the best remedy (and the best revenge!).

Writing a blog for anyone to read initially seemed weird after a lifetime of reserving personal correspondence exclusively for my intimate relationships – friends, family and my paramour. Now I’ve come to the realization that my blog affords me the privilege of becoming a small part of your world. And that is wonderful!

Writing from my heart will push me beyond the constraints of my comfort zone. This will ensure that you and I have a genuine dialog. I chose to take on this challenge like I have taken on other challenges. I reach out with honesty, grace, and good fun.

I find it imperative that we balance the high tech world with wholesome virtues, moral well-being and a generosity of spirit to oneself (and those around us). Today I’ve made the transition. Technology does have a positive role in our lives. All these high tech gadgets allow us to stay connected instantly. To appreciate those close to us in a nanno second is sheer genius. Like you all, I have my Blackberry neatly tucked in my coat pocket at all times. I never know when someone I love might need a helping hand, or my girlfriends need my ear to vent their angst, or act on the human need to simply connect. With the latest and greatest technology, we now strive for the necessity to live a peaceful and balanced life.

There you have it, I have taken the big leap and opened up my world. I look forward to sharing the latest and hottest makeup tips and fashion trends. It’s always scary to try something new, yet I embrace this endeavor. It is my hope that my blog will be enjoyed and shared. I hope that you find my skin care information and makeup ideas rewarding and worth reading. I hope to hear back from you so we can share experiences, ideas and some good stories.

I feel refreshed that I have taken this first step with you. You have expanded my horizons and I look forward to a lovelier future.
