Beauty Myths - Soaps are a No No for your Skin

Sure, formulas of yesteryear were loaded with veggie oils and animal fats. Newer soap formulas are designed to be milder and reinforced with moisturizers to maintain moisture in your skin. Bottom line: clean skin is way better than the dirty variety!

Lips Tips

I’m often asked, “Can you give me fuller, sexier, kissable lips?”

First an observation, most of us are not unkindly deprived in the lip department; but due to the “Angelina Jolie Affect” there is an understandable sense of wanting. Happily here are things you can do!

Preserve What You Already Have
Avoid cracked, dry, peeling lips with a lip protectant/sunscreen balm (SPF 15 or greater). Use it regularly during the day and as a nighttime ritual. A moisture rich balm will smooth out many of those unwanted nooks and crannies.

Build a Foundation
Create a base with a translucent face powder set over an application of foundation applied to your lips using a cosmetic sponge. Make sure the foundation is the same used for the rest of your face. The powder keeps the foundation and lipstick in place.

Magnify Those Lips
Select a lip liner pencil that closely matches the color of your actual lips. Delineate the outside edges of your lips – to make them fuller you can add some shape and contours.

Color Them In
Beginning at the corners of your mouth, shade the outer edges using the lip liner pencil. Don’t color the fuller center of your lips. Not yet. Now with your lipstick, and using a lipstick brush, apply color your entire lips. Blend lip liner and lipstick together using the brush.

Finishing Touch
Dab a light-colored lip-gloss and/or some petroleum jelly onto your lips. For a poutier look, focus the gloss on the middle of your lower lip. Blend gloss and lipstick for a subtler effect. To cap it off, don’t forget to add your Lip Balm.

Now go on and enjoy your all-natural, luscious, collagen-free kissable lips!

Trend Tip #1 - Waterproof Yourself!

Sobbing, sweating and swimming can wreak havoc. Streaking mascara sluicing through clumped foundation is a look to be avoided at all cost.

So, is your makeup waterproof? Here is a quick and easy test.

Paint your left hand with samples of your favorite mascara, eyeliner, lip stick, foundation and blush. Then spray water onto your left hand, and for good measure, shake it all about!

If nothing streaks, smears or runs you are well waterproofed. If not, please contact me and I'll guide you to my select collection of Phiz Skincare waterproof products.
